Bio: Sharad Rao

 

Mr. Rao brings more than 30 years of experience with twenty five years of consulting experience with a focus on Process and Technology in the Public Sector arena with State, City and the Federal Government. Prior to starting his own company, Mr. Rao was a Senior Executive with Deloitte Consulting, leading the Justice and Public Safety segment of the law and justice industry segment for the Americas.  Mr. Rao was recently selected by the Small Business Administration as one of the 17 Small Business Emerging Leaders for 2015.

 

Mr. Rao has extensive experience of working in multiple industries such as Human Services Child Support and Child Welfare, Public Health prior to his work in the Justice and Public Safety arena.  Mr. Rao has consulted with a number of agencies across multiple states such as Orange County, California, Harris County, Texas, New York City Police Department, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, United Way of America to develop Strategic Technology Plans for them.

 

During his career, Mr. Rao has led numerous initiatives at the Federal, State, and Local levels.  He led the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative which was one of the White House priority projects as well as initiatives that were designed to impact recidivism and re-entry across the prison and jail population by connecting jails and service providers (health, mental health and social service) to enhance interventions using a standards based model.

 

Mr. Rao is currently very active with a number of associations in the Justice and Integrated Justice arena.  Some of the associations include Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies, Corrections Technology Association, Association of State Corrections Administrators, Global Advisory Committee, to name a few.  Mr. Rao. Holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
